Steve's Cool Artwork Inspired by Batman's Carmine Infantino & 1966 TV Series

A few days ago we did a post here at the Bat-Blog that featured some artwork by 2 Graphic Artists who were recently inspired by Carmine Infantino's iconic drawing of Batman and Robin. Well, a few days later we received this art from a friend named Steve, who likes to draw, & he too was inspired by this same artwork. But his twist on it was he drew the characters to look like the 1966 TV Show. Plus, he also did a piece that is an homage to the Golden Age Comic Book, DETECTIVE COMICS # 27. But the thing that's cool about it is that he also made it look like some characters in the 1966 BATMAN TV Show, Adam West's Batman & Cesar Romero's Joker. Both pictures are pretty cool, check them out!! Oh yeah, just to refresh some Reader's memories I posted the classic cover to Det. Comics # 27. ( Thanks Steve )

Arturo's Wonderful JOKER Costume & Make-Up Photos

One of the greatest things I love about doing the Bat-Blog is getting to meet Batman Fans from all over the world. Here are some photos sent-in by a friend named Arturo. He lives in Mexico & wanted us to see his JOKER costume he made for a party. It looks like everybody had a fun time! The costume is very well done & the funny thing is that he had a mustache ( which he didn't shave off ) & he covered it with white make-up in honor of Cesar Romero, the Actor who played the Joker in TV's 1966 BATMAN! Now, how cool is that?! Whoops, I guess I should explain that, back in the 1960's, Romero refused to shave his trademark mustache & left it on to become the Joker. They just covered it with white make-up & it's always been sort of an unusual piece of Bat-History. Thank you for sending the wonderful photos Arturo!

THE JOKER - Bat-Blog's Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight? I always ask that of all my prey, I just like the sound of it. This week's "Batman Wallpaper Backgrounds" feature 2 different versions of The JOKER: Cesar Romero ( From the 1966 Batman TV Show & Movie ) and Jack Nicholson from the 1989 Tim Burton Film. In their own special ways both of these Actors did a very fine job... "Delicious!"

Batman's THE JOKER Desktop Wallpaper Backgrounds!

OK, I'm sort of doing this post as a special request. Recently I started to use a new "1440 x 900 Resolution Size" for Batman Wallpapers & a Bat-Blog Fan named Richard requested a few in this size of the JOKER. He kind of left it up to me to pick the images so I went with "something old, something new". That way, more people are happy, ha! First is the "old". This is a delicious photo of Cesar Romero as The JOKER from the 1966 BATMAN TV Show. He looks very satisfied with some evil thing he did, ha! Now, the next 2 backgrounds are the same image of a cool JOKER TOY but I thought that making a black & white version would be interesting. What do you think?

BATMAN TATTOO ART - Amazing Tribute To 1966 Batman TV Show

Wow! Check out this amazing "1966 Batman TV Show Tribute" Tattoo!! This was submitted by our friend Sarah who lives in Austria. This tattoo took over a year to create with 8 different trips to the Tattoo Shop. Now, that's dedication right there, ha! But it was worth it because it's a beautiful piece of ART. The details are insane! It features Batman ( Adam West ), Robin The Boy Wonder ( Burt Ward ), The Joker ( Cesar Romero ), the 1966 BATMAN TV Show Logo, & even the famous Red Bat-Phone! I think the artist did a great job on the rendering of the character's faces because they look EXACTLY like the original actors! Plus, the coloring & over-all composition is very excellent ( Be sure to click on the above photo for a larger, more detailed, pic ). I wanna thank Sarah for sharing her personal story & photo...great stuff! I also want to invite any old or new Bat-Blog Fans who get some ink done to send us some pictures, Thanks.

Weird Batman Backgrounds - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

For this week's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" I thought I would post some Batman Wallpapers that are just totally weird! Yeah, I know, these are kind of strange but they still make an interesting background on your desktop. The 1st one is sort of an homage to the older BATMAN BEYOND TV cartoon. I did it because I'm very excited about the "Batman Beyond: The Complete Series" coming to DVD. The next one is a wonderful image of the JOKER ( Cesar Romero ) from the 1966 Batman TV Show that I found while surfing the net. So, whattya think of these? Good? Bad? Well, the Bat-Blog has 100's more you can see if you did through the Bat-Archives that's located on the left side of this blog, about 1/2 way down.

1966 BATMAN TV Show Tribute Artwork by Steve Willaredt

A friend turned me on to this website the other day Called BATTLE ROYALE WITH CHEEZE & I have to admit that I'm very impressed with it so far. Basically, it's the online artwork portfolio of a Graphic Artist named Steve Willaredt and it looks like he has been doing a tribute to the old 1960's BATMAN TV Series. He's doing some very funny caricatures of the characters from the show & they really look like the actual actors. In fact, the art is pretty cool! As an example I'm showing just a few here but please be sure to visit his site to see the rest, click HERE!

ART: THE JOKER - JACK IN THE BOX Custom Toy

Shown here are some photos of an amazing Custom Toy made by a Bat-Blog Reader known as "Turkey Bowinkle". Yeah, that's his name. You got a problem with that? But seriously he's a very creative person & he made this LITTLE JOKER Jack In The Box! It's a small wooden box with painted Joker Card graphics. When you open the lid - BOOM! - The Joker pops out! The Joker Figure is some sort of sculpted clay ( painted later ) with cloth clothing & green hair. I really love this little toy. It's so cool! The facial expression on Joker's face is really great & he does sort of look a lot like Cesar Romero from the 1966 Batman TV Show! So, "Turkey Bowinkle" is a very talented artist in deed! I wanna thank him for sending the wonderful pics & also invite all other Bat-Blog Readers ( with special art or craft projects ) to please send us some pics as well.

CUSTOM MEGO Dolls: THE UNITED UNDERWORLD from the 1966 Batman TV Movie!

Here's a pretty cool video I came across & I can't help but think this is our old friend Martin from the UK. He was really into collecting Custom Dolls & Action Figures, especially ones that were related to the 1966 Batman TV Series. Hmmm, I need to contact him & see. Either way this video is very interesting. In it this toy collector showcases his collection of Custom Toys that were made to resemble 4 Bat-Villians who were known as THE UNITED UNDERWORLD in the BATMAN feature film of 1966. The evil group included The Riddler ( Frank Gorshin ), Catwoman ( Lee Merriwether ), The Penguin ( Burgess Meredith ), & The Joker ( Cesar Romero )! Now, before you freak-out & start asking, "where do I buy these?", ha ha. These Mego Dolls are all custom made, even the display boxes. But you have to admit they're all extremely well-done. The head sculpts of each character look almost exactly like the real-life actors. The costumes are very accurate too & the display boxes are just a total bonus! Martin, if these are yours please contact me.
