Over at the "Golden Age Comic Book Stories" Website a Blogger scanned a few 1940's BATMAN SUNDAYS from the New York Sunday Mirror Tab Sections. They're all from 1946. The Artwork is by Jack Burnley, among others. They are all a total joy to read & the vintage graphics are completely beautiful. I've attached one as an example ( Click on it for a larger, more readable, version ), but to see them ALL just click HERE!
Check out this amazing photo! It belongs to a guy in New Jersey named Gene. His story is, "Back in February of 1967, my dad took me and my younger brother Michael over to the Old Armory in West Orange, NJ, where they used to have great Hot Rods and Stock Car Shows. My Dad took this lone photo of us in front of one of the five original BATMAN TV 1966 Batmobiles!" WOW!!! Gene strongly believes the Custom Car he saw in 1967 was the #4 Batmobile ( the vehicle used for all the drag racing scenes ) because of the elaborate seat belt harnesses he and his brother recall seeing in the interior. Also, CHECK OUT the awesome life-size cardboard cutouts of Adam & Burt to the far right!!! This is a Classic Childhood Photograph! I wanna thank BatDave for bringing it to our attention & especially thank Gene for sharing his wonderful childhood memory... great stuff!

Here's an interesting video shot at New York Comic Con of an almost 1-hour speech by Michael Uslan, the Producer of the Batman Movies. This is part one ( 10 minutes ) & there are 5 total, that you can enjoy at YouTube. Basically, he shares his stories about being a HUGE Comic Book Fan & going to early Comic Book Conventions. In fact, he went to the VERY FIRST Comic Con in NYC back in the 1960's. Now the reason I'm posting this video is because he talks about Batman, a lot!
The BAT-BLOG recently had a fan named Thomas send us these pictures to share and they're pretty interesting. Thomas has a friend who is a Sculptor & Product Designer who does custom artwork with metal. Thomas said, "I always thought it was pretty cool and he made really awesome stuff, but I never thought it would be anything I'd want to buy... until NOW!" Ha! What he's talking about is this amazing BATMAN SYMBOL LOGO Wall Relief Sculpture. Meaning, that it has a sort of 3D quality about it. Batman Fans will all know the symbols used here. Basically we got the "Classic Yellow Oval", then the more "Modern-Day" version. Then on top of that is the current logo used for the movie franchise...WOW! Yesterday, here at the BAT-BLOG.COM, we featured a few videos of the unveiling of the Batmobile Car that will be used in the BATMAN LIVE World Arena Tour. The event happened in the UK & you know people there must have went insane. Well, today we decided to share some amazing photos of the BATMOBILE CAR! Check out these 2 Fun JOKER & HARLEY QUINN Photos: The 1st one was sent to us by a new friend named Patricio who lives in Chile. He recently bought a "foreign copy" of the famous Joker Graphic Novel, "Batman: The Killing Joke". Well, it's not foreign to him, just us comic book collectors in the USA, ha! The neat thing is that in Chile it's titled, "La Broma Asesina". Oh yeah, now how cool is that?! That's awesome!
The next photo is absolutely incredible. This is a BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Birthday Cake of HARLEY QUINN created by a company called "Mike's Amazing Cakes". The details are insane & it's complete crazy to think that it can all be eaten! I mean, it's an ART Masterpiece. I couldn't eat it, ha!
MEET BATMAN AND ROBIN, THE BOY WONDER, LIVE IN PERSON! The Actors from the Classic 1966 BATMAN TV Show, Adam West and Burt Ward, will be at this years Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con 2011. The event starts tomorrow, Friday, June 17th & runs the whole weekend. So, if you live near that area then you need to drop by & say, "Howdy!". The convention will also have a ton of Comic Book Artists, who over the years, have worked on a BATMAN title. The list includes: Mike Grell, Carlos Pacheco, Doug “Dougie” Braithwaite, Arthur Suydam, J.G. Jones, Ethan Van Sciver, and Shane Davis. For more info then click HERE!

DC Direct just announced a brand-new BATMAN Statue that will be coming out later this year. It's a Maquette Figure based on the BATMAN: YEAR ONE character from the DC Universe Animated Original Movie DVD. Oh man, it's beautiful! I like the retro-style. It was sculpted by DEREK MILLER. This hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain Maquette-Statue of BATMAN will be released on September 27th, 2011. It will measure about 9.8" high x 7.75" wide x 5" deep. Also, it's a Limited Edition. One of the things I love about collecting Batman stuff is that over the last 40+ years they have made a TON of merchandise that you can hunt down. So, you can never "have it all" or, in other words, you can collect it forever! It's sort of the main inspiration for me creating the Bat-Blog. Then, speaking of this site one thing I really love is connecting with other Bat-Collectors. I always like seeing other people's stuff, what they have & how it's displayed.
Shown here are a few photos of "Ryan's Batcave". as you can see he has some extremely awesome Batman Toys, Action Figures, Collector Plates, Statues, Framed Art Prints, Posters, etc... even a 1989 BATMAN MOVIE Video Game Vending Machine ( my favorite piece! ). Well, I really like the "Animated Series" Collector Plates too. Ryan seems to have focused a lot on the items from the WB Store. We used to have one here where I live & I really miss it. They had a lot of high-quality items. Well, anyway, please check out all the cool pics and I wanna thank Ryan for sharing his personal Bat-Collection, it's very very cool!
