Custom Art BATMAN LOGO SYMBOLS Metal Sculpture

The BAT-BLOG recently had a fan named Thomas send us these pictures to share and they're pretty interesting. Thomas has a friend who is a Sculptor & Product Designer who does custom artwork with metal. Thomas said, "I always thought it was pretty cool and he made really awesome stuff, but I never thought it would be anything I'd want to buy... until NOW!" Ha! What he's talking about is this amazing BATMAN SYMBOL LOGO Wall Relief Sculpture. Meaning, that it has a sort of 3D quality about it. Batman Fans will all know the symbols used here. Basically we got the "Classic Yellow Oval", then the more "Modern-Day" version. Then on top of that is the current logo used for the movie franchise...WOW! I gotta say that this piece of art is really cool & looks extremely well-done. If you enjoy CUSTOM ART, then please be sure to visit the Artist's website. His name is Elliott Bowser & you can see his stuff HERE! ( Thanks Thomas )

The next photo shows a Bat-Latte with a nice head of foam and in the last photo, to go with your coffee, we got some Batman and Robin Cupcakes. So, have YOU made anything recently that was both Artistic AND Batman-related? If so, then please shoot us some pics & share YOUR story!

Kittyzilla's BATMAN AND ROBIN Arts & Crafts Plush Dolls

There are some people out there who are totally unaware that there's a complete sub-culture of Craft Artists who make really fun stuff. These Artists are totally dedicated to their artwork & make some extremely clever items. One such person is "Kittyzilla!". Well, her real name is Jennifer & she's also a writer of a Craft Blog called "Handmade Stuffs" where she talks about her projects. Recently she made an extremely AWESOME set of BATMAN AND ROBIN Plush Dolls, or as some people call them, "Plushes". I love these fun toys, they're great! Photos - Comic Book Artist JOE KUBERT at New Jersey Comic Book Store!

Last week the Bat-Blog announced the special appearance of JOE KUBERT for a Book Signing at Dewey's Comic City in NJ. Well, Ace Bat-Reporter BatDave went to the event & said it was fantastic! He said that, "Mr. Kubert was extremely nice & even signed stuff for free!" It's great to see that some Artists are not greedy, ha! but, I've always been told by Friends who have met this guy that he's very down to earth. So, that's cool. While there Bat-Dave had some of his personal comic books, favorites from his childhood, signed. He also got these great pics. The 1st one shows the legend himself, Joe Kubert! Oh man, I wish I could have been there. As a side note: the last image, of the classic comic book covers, I made that into a JOE KUBERT COVER ART Wallpaper Background you can use to brighten your desktop. Also, a special thanks goes out to BatDave for his awesome reporting skills!

Please Help Comic Book Artist Moose Baumann Raise Money for Wife's Cancer Treatment

I noticed a story the other day over at COMICS ALLIANCE that sort of broke my heart a little bit. It appears that Moose Baumann, an extremely talented comic book colorist, is being plagued with having to deal with his Wife's Cancer Treatment ( We hope she is feeling better soon ). You see, most Comic Book Artists are pretty much "freelance" or self-employed. Many don't have proper Health Insurance. So, to help deal with the bills Moose Baumann is offering "Superhero Art Prints" to help raise money. The prints are 13" x 19" and printed on archival paper. They're some of the many comic book covers ( and inside artwork ) that he has colored. Now, We have only posted a few as examples here but there are more variations on Batman and Robin. There are also some images of Green Lantern, Superman, The Flash, Iron Man, etc... Here's a LINK to check it out!! Oh yeah, the prints are only $20 so while you're there buy 3 or 4, thanks.

New BATMAN AND ROBIN Comic Book Cover is Crazy!

I mean "crazy" in a good way, ha! Here is the extremely surrealistic cover art by Chris Burnham for BATMAN AND ROBIN # 26, due in August. The main story involves the Dynamic Duo going to France because lunatics have escaped from Le Jardin Noir, the French equivalent to Gotham City's Arkham Asylum. The story was written by David Hine and illustrated by Greg Tocchini. But check out this wacky-cool cover!! ( Click on it for a larger, more detailed, version ) It looks like something by Rene Magritte or Salvadore Dali!!

BATMAN AND ROBIN WALLPAPERS - Frank Miller Artwork

Well, it sold at Heritage Auctions for a record of $448,125. Yes! This is a top selling record. So, to celebrate, here are 2 BATMAN AND ROBIN AUCTION ART Wallpaper Backgrounds I created from photos of the original artwork. Oh yeah, and by the way, being poor totally sucks!

Video - BATMAN MOVEMENT Animation Test by 3D Artists

Here's a pretty cool video I came across the other night which shows CGI Modeling and texturing by 3D Artist Carles Gonzalez. Rigging and animated by Miguel Ángel Rubio Recio. The figure looks great but the cool thing is the actual movement of the figure. Batman starts out "walking", then a light sprint, and then some serious running action. All along the way the body seems very natural & the lighting is well done. Carles and Miguel live in Barcelona, Spain.

It was done by Aja Ann ( Kitty Tatt ) from "Dig A Tattoo" in Dunedin, New Zealand and is some of Tony Daniel's artwork from the BATMAN R.I.P. Comic Book series. THE ART OF MARK FREDRICKSON - The DARK KNIGHT Movie and MAD Magazine

A friend of mine sent me a link the other day to website for an amazing Graphic Artist named Mark Fredrickson. His artwork is extremely cool & I've known about his work for a long time but never knew his name, ha! You see, he created a few of the covers for MAD Magazine when they have done a parody of the Batman films. You might remember seeing the image shown here of Alfred E. Neuman as The Joker ( Heath Ledger version ). Mark also did a lot of the Stock Art ( or Style Guide Art ) used to promote THE DARK KNIGHT Movie Franchise. His images were placed in magazines, advertising, & other media packaging. Anyways, it's all good stuff & if you would like to see more of his work then just click HERE!
