New BATMAN & DOC SAVAGE SPECIAL Hits Stores Tomorrow!

OH YEAH! The New BATMAN & DOC SAVAGE SPECIAL Comic Book hits stores on November 11th, 2009 & I could not be more excited! Everything I have seen on this looks totally great & it's really wonderful that DC Comics is trying to bring back a "Film Noir" style to some of their books. In other words, if this book is successful, then we will be seeing a lot more pulp novel characters from the Golden Age! But back to this book, ha ha! Here's sort-of what the DC Comics website has to say about it:

BATMAN BACKGROUNDS - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

OK, This week we had so many cool Batman Wallpapers to showcase that it was hard to pick just 2 so I'm gonna throw 3 of them out here! The 1st one is an amazing graphic by a Bat-Blog Fan named Charlie Rose. As you can see he is a very talented Graphic Artist & in the near future we plan to have a more complete story about his company that makes art prints. But in the mean time, please enjoy this Adam West & Burt Ward Wallpaper. Now, the next wallpaper is an image direct from DC Comics. It features Batman with Doc Savage & it is sort of hyping their future Graphic Novel. I love that they are combining golden age pulp novel fiction with comic books, can't wait to see that! The last background is pretty cool too. It sort of shows off an amazing Batman costume that is worn by a guy who is a part of a group called the "Gotham City Five", GC5 for short. They are a team of cosplay members who dress-up for charity events. I'm gonna have a more in depth article about them in the near future too so keep an eye out for that. Well, I don't know about you but I like all 3 of these desktop backgrounds & I hope you love at least one of them, ha ha!

BATMAN / DOC SAVAGE SPECIAL #1 Variant Cover & DESKTOP WALLPAPER

OK, I guess I gotta explain this post a little bit. Basically DC Comics ( or is it now DC Entertainment? ) is gonna come out with a special series on November 11th that will feature an extremely classic character from the Golden Ages...DOC SAVAGE! The cool thing is that he teams up with Batman. I bet the angle will be, "Is he a good guy? or a Villain?" Now this character has been around a very long time & if you've ever visited any used book store then you have probably seen all the paperbacks they did in the 1970's. As a Vintage Book & Toy Dealer I have had a lot of these & they ALWAYS sell, they're just really popular. Doc Savage Fans are really loyal to this guy. Now I gotta admit that I have never read one of his pulp books but plan to the next chance I get. He just seems like such a cool character. Anyways, sorry I lost focus ( ha ha! ) but DC will be releasing the BATMAN / DOC SAVAGE SPECIAL #1 that will be a prologue to an upcoming 6-issue miniseries. It will be written by Brian Azzarello ( THE JOKER Graphic Novel ), Art by Phil Noto ( Famous for Pin-Ups & the current Batgirl covers ), Sketchbook material and variant cover by Rags Morales ( His variant cover artwork shown here in black & white inks ), & the regular cover will be by JG Jones which I have made into a BATMAN / DOC SAVAGE Desktop Wallpaper you can enjoy now!
