CALEB is Robin, The Boy Wonder!!

I love getting photos like this. Young fans who love Batman & Robin, that's so great! Here is our new friend Caleb and don't tell anybody, but in secret, he is Robin, The Boy Wonder! I'm serious, this guy is ready to fight crime in Gotham City! This home-made costume is totally AWESOME! Plus, I like the proud expression on his face. You know he must love wearing this thing, ha! Thank you Caleb for sharing your photos & please tell whoever made this costume for you that they did a wonderful job on it. You look super-cool!

Cool Photo of The Super-Extreme BATMAN FAN!

The Bat-Blog recently made a new friend named Salvatore. He lives in Belgium, which is pretty cool, & he's a super-major Batman Fan! What, you don't believe me? Well, check out this photo and then you'll agree. Here he is sporting his brand-new Batman Baseball Cap/Hat, Batman T-Shirt, Batman Tote-Bag, AND Batman Belt Buckle!! OK, now do you believe me? I thought this pic was kinda funny in a very clever way, I mean, he's so serious! I wanna thank Salvatore for allowing me to post this photo, BATMAN ROCKS!!

BATMAN FAN BOOK "Dicionario Do Morcego" or "Dictionary of The Bat"

One of the things I love about doing the Bat-Blog is getting to meet other Batman Fans from all over the world. Like, I recently met a very nice guy named Silvio Ribas who lives in Brazil. He's a major Batman Collector & he has a blog that shares what it is like to be a Batman Fan in his country. It's pretty cool! He also wrote a book in 2005 titled "Dicionario Do Morcego", which means "Dictionary of The Bat" in Portuguese. Hopefully he will send me a Review Copy, then I can give you more information about it. Now, unfortunately, I can't read the Portuguese language but I still like to visit Silvio's website every now & then because it does have some cool pictures & with translation software I can sort-of read it. Here's a LINK to check it out.

Some Brand-New BATMAN FAN Websites Worth Checking Out!

Here's a quick post to sort of promote 2 very cool Batman-related Websites by some friends of the Bat-Blog. They're both brand-new & have a clever twist. The 1st one is called "HOLY SMOKES BATMAN!" & it's main focus is recounting ALL the different times that Robin ( Burt Ward ) said the phrase "Holy..." on the 1966 TV Series. There are actual audio clips of every phrase & if you check out the site then be sure to click on "Play The Entire Library" to hear them all & have a really great laugh! Our friend Jay did a great job on this site & it's a lot of fun. Just click HERE!

The next Batman-Fan website is actually a re-vamp of an older, existing page, except our friend Stephanie changed it around to the blogging format & it's really way better. It's called "BATMAN-CITY, The Ultimate Batman Trading Card Guide on the Web" & it's obsessive focus is collecting very detailed information about all the different Batman Trading Card Sets & Promo Cards from around the world. You know how I am totally goo-goo over "the foreign stuff" so I'm really liking it so far, ha ha! She just recently started this blog but if it become 1/2 as detailed as her other "Reference Guide" website then it should be quite good...keep an eye on it. Just Click HERE!

Personal News: BAT-BLOG.COM Gets a Nice Plug!

Over at the POP CULTURE SHOCK website the Bat-Blog gets a nice mention in the NO CURE FOR COMICS section. Our friend Matt did a story about the "Comic Blog Elite" site & mentions that the Bat-Blog is Number 2 on their list of worthy blogs. Actually, we were Number 1 for almost a year but that's cool ( I'm not bitter, ha ha! ) I mean, if you're in 2nd place, it makes you work harder, right? Anyways, thanks to Matt for the shout out! You can visit his site by clicking HERE!

CLUB BATMAN: SPAIN - 20th Anniversary Celebration!

I want to congratulate our friends who run the CLUB BATMAN Fan Club in Spain. This year is their 20th Anniversary! To mark the special occasion they received some special artwork by Norm Breyfogle. Of course he was one of the major Batman comic book artists of the 1980's & 90's. He was kind enough to allow them to use some of his art for their promotion. Congrats CLUB BATMAN...and here's to 20 more years!! One last thing, if you live in that area of the world & would like to join the club then please be sure to visit their website by clicking HERE!

BATMAN FAN? PLEASE SUPPORT THE BAT-BLOG TODAY!

OK, This is kind of funny! As the main writer of the Bat-Blog I am always constantly stressing out about how I can promote the site. It's a very difficult thing to do. If I were to study the growth of this blog ( or ANY blog for that matter ), it's an extremely slow process to obtain new readers. It totally drives me crazy, ha ha! For example, awhile back I printed a small ad-sheet that I gave to people to advertise the site ( I still do it even today ). But one time, about 2 years ago, I got all "Guerrilla Marketing" about it, & taped one onto a Newspaper Vending Machine. Now the part that's totally hilarious is that it lasted for almost 2 1/2 years! I always wonder if it had any value at all...did it bring in any new people? Probably not, or if so, not too many. One thing I've learned is that the best response is by "word of mouth". So, what I'm gonna do here is ask every single reader of the Bat-Blog, at least those who enjoy the site, to please tell all their friends about it. You can do it inside a Message Board, with a Banner or Bulletin on your MySpace page, a Link on your own Blog, a Link-Post on your Facebook Page, e-mail a friend who likes Batman, etc... But please don't do what I did this one time & plaster a sign on some property, ha ha! If you need to know ways to promote the Bat-Blog or if you need a special-sized banner then just please shoot me an e-mail. I would be more than happy to help! One last thing, I hope a lot of people out there enjoy this site & I want to thank everyone who comes back to read it every single day. It really means a lot.

Vintage BATMAN AND ROBIN T-SHIRT Family Photo

OK, every now & then I get people asking me, "How long have you been a total Batman Fanatic?" Well, I guess the answer would be "over 40 years". I mean, I am 45 & have been a HUGE Bat-Fan since the age of 2! Every holiday, when the whole family gets together, they always make fun at how I was totally crazy about Batman as a little kid. My Aunt loves to tell the story about how my Nanny ( her Mother ) made me a Custom Batman Cape & I used to totally live in it, ha ha! Yeah, the story gets kinda old but it's always nice to hear. Now, regular Bat-Blog Readers might have read about when my Grandmother died recently. It took my Aunt a long time to get the courage to "deal with the house". Mainly because it was so haunting to go in there & be totally reminded of her. I can completely understand & respect that. It must have been really difficult. Well, she finally got around to going through her things & I told her that Nanny had a photo of me wearing a Batman T-Shirt and, if I could, I would really like to have it. It was an old black & white photo that hung on her bedroom wall, like forever. Well, she said it wasn't there anymore ( she's still trying to find it ). But, while going through a drawer she found this one still in the original metal frame. It's a color photo & I have NEVER seen it before. I really laughed when I saw it. Plus, if you look closely, I'm wearing a bootleg "Batman & Robin" T-Shirt. Now, how cool is that!? I'm also wearing my Grandfather's military hat he wore during WWII. I loved it & used to wear it all the time.
