BATMAN MEMORABILIA From Around the Globe!

I don't know what my fascination is with "Foreign Batman items" but that sort of stuff is really cool! Plus it's very hard to find. Here's some great examples: The 1st photo shows a JAPANESE POTATO CHIP BAG with a 1989 BATMAN movie promotion. Now, how wacky is that! Speaking of "Japanese", right now my heart goes out to all the people of Japan. The recent events there are such a tragedy. Let's hope things get better soon. The next pic features a 1980's German-Language BATMAN Comic Book... from Germany ( Duh!, ha! ). The the last group of photos are vintage Batman items from Australia. These Australian comics are from the 1970's. So, what do you think? Is this stuff kinda cool!? Hey, I got a question, Do YOU have any foreign bat-items you would like to share? If so, then please send us some pics today. Remember, the Bat-Blog is all about sharing information about the joys of collecting.

CRAZY CRAZY BATMAN! The Art of GRANT HUNTER!

One of my favorite things about the internet is getting to meet new people from all around the world. It's so cool how you can just spark a casual conversation with somebody, anywhere! Like here, I recently met this guy named Grant Hunter. He's an Artist & Illustrator living in Newcastle, Australia. His artwork is really great! It looks sort of child-like and very abstract. It's also slightly Gothic looking too. Well, I'm sorry, it's really kind of hard for me to describe but if you look at it you'll get the idea. It's some very cool stuff!! Shown here are 2 recent Batman Drawing he has done. Also, if you wanna see more than just click HERE!

BATMAN INFLATABLE BOUNCE HOUSE Spotted in Australia!

While surfing the Internet the other night I came across this very cool BATMAN INFLATABLE BOUNCE HOUSE that would be perfect for any party! The thing that made it interesting to me is that the company renting it is located in Australia. Ha! I totally love that! I really like how the Dark Knight is popular all over the world. So, if you're a Bat-Blog Fan who lives outside the USA, then I'm asking you to please keep me updated on Bat-News from your part of the world. Video - Vintage Corgi Action Toys TV Commercial - Batmobile and Bat-Copter

Here is a cool vintage Corgi Action Toys TV commercial from 1981 from Australia. It features popular heroes like Batman, Buck Rodgers and James Bond. It shows the Batmobile on the verge of falling off a skyscraper ( How did that car get up there? ). But don't worry, it's saved by the Bat-Copter!

Ahhhhh, Little Bat-Baby is so cute, goo goo! To see the whole news story ( with many other fun photos ) just click HERE!

Gotham's Finest Do Good Work for Children's Leukemia Charity in Australia!

Here are some pictures of our friend Paul in his amazing Batman bat-suit costume. He belongs to a group of amateur costumers in Brisbane, Australia called Gotham's Finest. They like to attend charity events and help raise funds for worthwhile causes. Recently they attended the "World's Greatest Shave" for the Leukemia Foundation of Queensland. They had an absolutely fantastic day, AND helped raise funds for research into finding a cure for leukemia at the same time...that's AWESOME! My thanks goes out to Paul & his Gotham's Finest group for sending us the fun pictures but, more importantly, thanks for helping raise money for such a wonderful charity!

Now I absolutely despise the murderer Werner Herzog. I tell him to his face that I want to see him perish like the llama he executed. He should be thrown to the crocodiles alive! An anaconda should throttle him slowly! The sting of a deadly spider should paralyze him! His brain should burst from the bite of the most poisonous of all snakes! Panthers shouldn't slit his throat open with their claws, that would be too good for him! No. Big red ants should piss in his eyes, eat his balls, penetrate his asshole, and eat his guts! He should get the plague! Syphilis! Malaria! Yellow fever! Leprosy! In vain. The more I wish the most horrible of deaths on him and treat him like the scum of the earth that he is, the less I can get rid of him!

BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Magazine By TITAN COMICS in The UK

OK, This post is mainly for our friends who live in the United Kingdom, Australia, & New Zealand. The TITAN COMICS Company will be publishing a BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD "Comic Book" Magazine. The neat thing is that the very First Issue #1 will come with a few special gifts included ( I guess the thing will be poly-bagged ). The items include: a Stationary Set, Batman Mask, & Stickers. The "Stationary Set" looks like it includes a Pencil, Ruler, Paper, & Pencil Case...AWESOME! Now, I'm pretty sure they sell these at Grocery Stores but since I don't live there I have no idea, ha! The local Comic Book Shops there will probably carry them too. But, from their website, you can subscribe for a year & get 13 Issues for only £27.60. But the thing is, you have to live in the United Kingdom, Australia, or New Zealand. Bummer! Here's the link for their website, just click HERE!

This photo was sent in by a good friend named Belinda & I'm trying to get her to steal it for me. I hope she's able to get away with it. I'll keep you updated on that, ha!

Johnny Romeo's BATMAN POP ART Acrylic & Oil Paintings

I just discovered a Pop Artist in Australia who, right now, is totally inspired by Batman & other comic book imagery. His name is Johnny Romeo. He's mainly a painter but also makes prints & books. Judging his artwork you can easily see that he is inspired by both Jean Michel Basquiat & Andy Warhol. But I do have to admit that he's a great colorist. Plus these paintings do look pretty cool! If you're interested in seeing more of his artwork you can do so by clicking HERE! There you will find information to his current art openings in & around Australia. Also, down below is the promo video for his current United Galleries Art Show with the "BATMAN LANE SERIES" Paintings.

Australian Batman Fan Creates an Awesome BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Costume!

This morning I got an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Reader who lives in Australia. First off, I gotta say, that I have always loved that country because it just seems like such a cool place to live. I hope I get the chance to go visit there someday. Now, back to the post. Our friend's name is Paul and, besides being a major Batman Fan, he's also into creating cool costumes. So, as a new project, he made this outfit that is fashioned after the version we see in the new BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Video Game. I gotta say that this thing is pretty impressive! The detailing is great & I think it's pretty accurate too ( Be sure to click on the above photo for a larger, more detailed, version ). Paul, you did a great job on this, very well done. I know this sounds dumb, but my favorite thing is the Bat-Belt...it's awesome! Thank you very much for sending the photo!
