Here's a fresh "Prototype Photo" showing the new BATMAN: BLACK AN WHITE STATUE modeled after artwork by Comic Book Artist Dustin Nguyen. WOW! It looks pretty awesome! Please be sure to click on it for a larger, more detailed, picture.
I love the BATMAN: BLACK AND WHITE Statues and this new one that's just been announced totally cracks me up! This latest statue from DC Direct is designed by Sergio Aragonés with a classic MAD MAGAZINE look! This cold-cast porcelain statue measures approximately 6.5" high x 7.5" wide x 4" deep, is painted in monochromatic tones, features a Bat-logo-shaped base and is packaged in a black and white box. It will retail for about $ 90.00 and goes on sale around January 18th, 2012.

I recently received some very nice photos from a fellow Batman Collector named Brad ( Be sure to click on them for larger, more detailed, pics ). He has a really great Batman Statue Collection. Now, there were a ton of photos so I'm just showing a few right now, and later I will post the rest. But I'm putting them in categories, so they make sense, so don't worry. These pics focus mainly on the Batman: Black and White statues. Then, there's a few other busts & random statues... all great stuff! I think it's really neat to see a lot of the B&W figures all together. They always make an interesting display. My next post will focus on his Joker Collection so stay tuned for that. In the mean time, here's some great stuff to drool over, ha! ( Thanks to Brad for sharing, YOU ROCK, Sir! )
DC Direct just announced another BATMAN BLACK & WHITE STATUE. Here's a promotional photo we just got from DC Direct. This is the beautiful BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Statue. It's a part of the "Batman: Black and White Statue" Series. It was sculpted by Dave Cortes. This statue's image is based on the video game design. It measures approximately 7 1/4" high x 6 1/4" wide x 4 3/4" deep, is painted in monochromatic tones, features a Bat-logo-shaped base and is packaged in a black and white box. OK, here's another Batman: Black & White Art Statue that I'm sure will totally torture collectors who are too poor to buy them because it's so awesome & beautiful ( I fit that category, ha ha! ). This is Batman as he appeared in the BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Video Game. I'm really loving the attention to detail here but please keep in mind that this is a prototype-photo & the actual product may vary. Well, either way it's gonna look really great! DC Direct has been doing an amazing job on this statues. This one will be sculpted by Dave Cortes. It's retail price is gonna be about $80.00 & has a release date of September 1st, 2010. So, I guess, start saving your money because you're really going to WANT this one!

Alright, today we're doing sort of a test of something new to see how it goes! You know we always post a few Brand-New Free Batman Theme Wallpaper Backgrounds every week but I thought, besides the regular PC Desktop ones, we would also add some Apple Computer Backgrounds just in case you have an iPhone or an iPod Touch ( Please let me know if they work, I still have not tested them yet ). I mean, seems like a good idea, right? Besides, it's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" so let's go crazy!! Now, the colorized version, with Batman & Robin swinging through the sky of Gotham City, was made using artwork by an extremely talented Graphic Artist named Dean Trippe. I have always liked Dean's work & his special cartoon-style. Just "Google his name" sometime & you'll see some really cool stuff! The 2nd wallpaper, that is mostly Black & White, is artwork from Paul Pope. His work always seems to have a crazy energy! OK, please let me know which Wallpaper Background you like the best. Also, if you have an Apple Gadget then please test one of these for me & let me know, thanks.

DC Direct recently announced that they will have a special BATMAN: BLACK & WHITE STATUE of CATWOMAN! With that news Selina Kyle now becomes the 1st female character in that line and villain # 3 to join this popular series ( previous villains include The Joker & The Penguin ). The other cool thing about this original design is that it is styled after artwork done by Steve Rude, a fan favorite among most comic book fans. Well, the ones that have any taste anyway! I'm really loving this one. She has that great Silver-Age style...MEOW! Look for it to be released later this year on July 7th, 2010. It's Limited Edition & will run about $80.00.
