New ROBIN THE BOY WONDER Character Glass - Batman Toon Tumblers

This brand-new Character Glass of ROBIN, THE BOY WONDER just hit the market & like all the other glasses from this series will probably sell-out pretty soon. I love that they devoted a glass to Batman's partner. The graphics are really great! On the front is the image you see up above & on the back is the ROBIN "comic book logo". Oh yeah, I guess I should mention that the glass is totally clear but in this photo a piece of white paper was put inside to allow the image to be photographed. So, it looks a lot more cool than the dumb photo. This glass, of course, is one of the "Toon Tumblers" in the DC Comics line. So far they have made Poison Ivy, Joker, Harley Quinn, etc...Let's hope that they eventually make glasses of every single Batman character out there, ha ha! BATMAN BACKGROUNDS - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

Long time readers of the BAT-BLOG know that we post brand-new exclusive Batman Wallpapers every Wednesday. So, this week, I thought I would go with a few images that are totally random. The 1st one is pretty cool. It's just a very nice ( high resolution ) photo of the Tumbler Batmobile from the recent Batman films. Then, the next one sort of celebrates original comic book artwork. To make this awesome graphic I borrowed some art from Ty Templeton. I know a lot of Batman Fans will recognize his name because he drew "The Batman Adventures" back when that was one of the titles. This one shows the Penguin flying through the air & the thing, I think, that makes it interesing is that The Penguin is drawn in a vintage "Golden Age" style ( think "Dick Sprang" era ) & the Dark Knight is drawn in a more modern-day look. So, there is sort of an ironic juxtaposition thing going on here. Now, before I go I gotta ask, Do you like either of these?

New HOT WHEELS BATMAN Starter Set TUMBLER BATMOBILE CAR - Custom Motors

A few weeks ago, here at the Bat-Blog, we reported about this brand-new BATMAN TOY but at the time we only had production pics from Mattel. Well, a good friend of this blog, named Paul, just spotted this item in a Wal-Mart retail store & sent us some great photos! The toy that we're talking about is the HOT WHEELS BATMAN STARTER SET by Mattel. It's a part of their CUSTOM MOTORS toy line. This one is the TUMBER BATMOBILE, just like the one from the recent movies. But the thing is, it comes with many different parts where you can snap them on/off to make many different versions. OK, I could see where kids would love playing with this toy & it does sort of promote having an imagination, so that's cool. Now, Paul said you can use parts from other cars in the same series to add even more variations. Plus, this Tumbler Batmobile measures about 4" long so it is bigger than your standard Hot Wheels diecast car...AWESOME! ( Thanks Paul )

Funny BATMAN HUMOR Photos and Comic Strips

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha, whew! OK, we all need a good laugh every now & then so here's a nice sample of Batman Humor to enjoy. The 1st pic is a total parody on the classic "American Gothic" 1930 painting by Grant Wood. I saw the original painting a few years ago at the Art Institute of Chicago, it was amazing. But this version is pretty funny! The next graphic is a scene from the opening title of The Simpsons TV Cartoon where Bart is in school. It looks like he might have been talking trash about Batman, ha! The next picture might need a little explaining. In 1939 ( just before World War II ), the British Government created propaganda posters with the phrase "Keep Calm and Carry On" that citizens in England were to hang in their homes. Now, for whatever reason, they were never distributed but were later found in 2000 & have since become total icons. This graphic is a parody of that poster & totally funny! The last photo shows the Tumbler Batmobile ( The Dark Knight movie version ) racing at a Nascar event. I'm pretty sure that pic is photoshopped. Plus, Batman would totally be in first place, ha!

Photos of The TUMBLER BATMOBILE CAR At The Recent LONDON FILM & COMIC CON

I could only imagine. I wanna thank Dan for thinking about the Bat-Blog & sharing these pictures. I wish I could have been there, ha! BATMAN GOLF CART Inspired by "The Dark Knight" Tumbler Batmobile

OK, There's a few people who hated the new Tumbler Batmobile from the recent Batman movies & there's a ton of people who totally loved it ( I loved it ). But regardless of your opinion, you just gotta admit that this is an extremely clever Custom Golf Cart! Yes, this thing was totally inspired by "The Dark Knight" films. It's crazy! Unfortunately it's not an official product. It was customized by a Warner Bros employee & is currently used to get around the lot. Now, my question is, how many of you would totally buy one of these?

Cool Batmobile Toy Collection From Taiwan & a Batman Japanese Magazine

I know the title for this post is kinda lame. I know I'm suppose to come up with something funny or extremely clever but I'm just not in the mood this morning, OK? ha ha! So, let's get right to it. Recently the Bat-Blog made a new friend in Taiwan named Jerry. Right off the bat he sent us some amazing pictures of Batman Fandom from the other side of the world. OK, I know the Internet has been around for almost 3 decades now but I'm still amazed ( like a Caveman ) about the quick & easy communication with people from anywhere on the globe, it's like magic...I love it! Anyway, Jerry's a nice guy & really into Batman, so that's cool. The 1st pic is a display of some of his favorite Large-Size Toy Batmobiles. You have the Batmobile from the later Animated Series, the Tumbler from The Dark Knight movie, the car from Batman: The Animated Series ( I've always totally loved that car ), the Tim Burton movie car, the Futuristic Flying Batmobile from Batman Beyond, & one of the Vehicles from a later Joel Schumacher Film, Batman Forever. AWESOME!! It's really cool to see them all together like this! Plus, it's a very nice collection. Now the next group of 3 photos is a Japanese Magazine owned by Jerry. It looks like the main cover story is all about the incredible Dolls, Toys, & Action Figures made by HOT TOYS for the DARK KNIGHT movie. I can't read any of this, ha ha, but visually it looks so great & I really love it too! They covered the Christian Bale & Heath Ledger Figures, the Bat-Pod Motorcycle, the Giant-Size Tumbler Vehicle, & some misc ( mainly the Joker Art Bust ). Thanks Jerry for sending all the wonderful pics!! Readers, I will be posting more later so stay tuned for that ( he sent some GREAT stuff ). If there are any other Bat-Fans out there who want to share some of their favorite pieces in their Bat-Toy Collections then please be sure to send us some pics today. Our email button is always on the top right-hand side of this page.

Video: Halloween BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT Movie Theme Display 2009

Look at how I decorated for Halloween this year! The neighborhood kids really loved it. No, it's not mine, just kidding, ha ha! This is the work of an extremely creative guy named Jerjod. It took him a whole year to construct all this stuff for his 2009 Halloween Batman Display. In the driveway is a Tumbler Batmobile Replica Car he made. He also made a Life-Size Mechanical Manikin of Batman in costume that moved around. There were Battery Controlled "Wing-Flapping Bats" that hung from the trees & he even had a HUGE Bat-Symbol light shining on his house that took up the entire garage-area section!! WOW! Extremely impressive!! If you wanna learn how he built all this stuff, & try to do it yourself, then be sure to visit the INSTRUCTABLES website by clicking HERE!

Video: HOT TOYS - TV News Story - The Dark Knight Movie Figures

Here's an interesting video of a Foreign TV News Story about the HOT TOYS Doll & Action Figure Company. It shows a lot of great shots of The Dark Knight Tumbler Batmobile Toy with the Batman Figure. Also included are the Joker Action Figure ( Heath Ledger, Version 2 with Rolling Eyes & Policeman Uniform ). Plus they cover some of their other movie properties very briefly. That list includes: Terminator Salvation, Watchmen, Ironman, The Godfather, & many more! But really the main part of the story seems to be Batman!

CUSTOM TUMBLER BATMOBILE GO-KART! Inspired By The Dark Knight Movie

Sort of by accident today the Bat-Blog is featuring a lot of custom items that were inspired by THE DARK KNIGHT movie. But when I saw this video a friend sent me I knew it had to be posted right away, it's cool! This is the video by a guy who made a Custom Tumbler Batmobile Car Go-Kart. It's totally beautiful. I know I'd love to have one, ha ha! We featured this thing here awhile back, but they were just photos. Now, we get to see the thing in action. OK, get ready to drool!
