OK, We're a little jealous! The Bat-Blog has a friend who lives in New Jersey & every time a huge "Geek Event" happens in NYC he's there. His name is BatDave & here are some photos he shared from the recent BIG APPLE COMIC CON last week. First off, he got to meet "Batman", live & in person ( Check out the photographic proof, ha ). Then, he got to meet two total BATMAN Comic Book Legends, Jerry Robinson and Neal Adams. Of course Mr. Robinson was there to promote his new book, "JERRY ROBINSON: AMBASSADOR OF COMICS", a great read ( For The Bat-Blog Book Review, Click HERE! ). Then, BatDave got Mr. Adams to sign a recent copy of his "Batman Odyssey" comic book. Overall it seems like a great adventure! Oh yeah, he saw this beautiful Asian Girl outside & it looks like she's a Batman Fan... Heck Yeah! ( Thanks, as always, to BatDave for sharing his wonderful photos ).
Check out these extremely cool pics from our friends Josh & Jenn. This year they went to the Comic Con International in San Diego & they totally dressed-up for the occasion! Josh was Two-Face, Jenn was Poison Ivy, & their friends ( sorry, I don't know their names ) were Catwoman, Black Canary, & Batgirl ( or is she suppose to be Batwoman? ). Judging by the photos, it looks like they all had a total blast! These pics sort of crack me up because I know these people in real-life & it's a big surprise that they would go to this event, ha! But regardless, they all look really great in all their costumes. ( Thanks to Josh for sending the evidence ).
Awhile back the Bat-Blog reported here that the TUMBLER BATMOBILE BATMAN MOVIE PROP CAR ( From Batman Begins & The Dark Knight ) was going to make an appearance at the London Film & Comic Con. Well, our friend Dan went to the event & shot us some wonderful photos! be sure to click on them for larger versions. He said it was very interesting to see the actual car in real life. I could only imagine. I wanna thank Dan for thinking about the Bat-Blog & sharing these pictures. I wish I could have been there, ha! Oh yeah, if anybody wants to read the original post, then here's a link - just click HERE!
Here's a very recent interview with George Barris who we all know designed and created the Custom 1966 Batmobile Car for the Classic 60's BATMAN TV series.
This post goes out to all the readers who live near the UK. Warner Bros and DC Comics are pleased to announce that they will be bringing the Tumbler Batmobile Car from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight movies to the London Film and Comic Con at Earls Court 2 in England on July 17th and 18th, 2010. Yes! The Batmobile is LIVE ON TOUR in Europe! For more information be sure to click HERE! ( Thanks Dan ) Oh yeah, if anybody goes to this event then please be sure to send the Bat-Blog some photos.
The Wizard World Comic Convention is coming to Philly from June 11th to the 13th, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The reason I mention it is because Adam West ( Bruce Wayne / Batman ) & Julie Newmar ( Catwoman ), the actors who played those characters in the 1966 BATMAN TV Show, will be there! Plus, hundreds of comic book artists, writers, pencillers, inkers, creators and directors are also set to attend. Some of them have even worked in Batman comics: Ethan Van Sciver, Mark McKenna, Jim Calafiore, & Arthur Suydam ( all pictured down below ), just to name a few. All VIP Ticket Holders will receive a special limited edition BATMAN ZOMBIE Art Print ( only 600 made & a picture of this print is shown up above ) signed by Arthur Suydam! For a complete listing of special guests and activities, as well as where to get tickets, please click HERE!
The Legendary BATMAN Comic Book Artist NORM BREYFOGLE will be a Special Guest at the NORTH EAST COMIC CON in Boston, Massachusetts on March 7th, 2010. So, if you live nearby, then this is your chance to meet him & maybe get a drawing or sketch of the Dark Knight. Now, another reason I mention this Boston Comic Book Convention is that they will also be giving away, as a door prize, an Original 1940's Golden Age Copy of BATMAN #1!! WOW! That would be extremely cool to win! I mean, I have wanted that iconic issue since I was about 12 years old, ha ha! For more information about this show be sure to visit their site by clicking HERE!
OK, I thought I would post this early so people could have enough time to save money or make plans. Batman Fans are in for a rare treat next April in California! Wizard World's "Anaheim Comic Con" will have 4 actors from the 1966 Batman TV Show. Be prepared to meet Adam West, Burt Ward, Yvonne Craig, & Julie Newmar! Of course we all know them as Batman, Robin The Boy Wonder, Batgirl, & Catwoman!! Now, Ward & Craig have come out of retirement to do this show so it might be your last chance to meet them both. The convention event will be on April 16-18, 2010 ( Fri-Sat-Sun ). For more information be sure to click HERE!
